Can Dogs Eat Apples?
Dogs can eat apples!
Apples are a great snack for dogs, and you don’t even need to peel them! The skin on apples has phytonutrients that are believed to fight different cancers in people. They also have Vitamin A, Vitamin C and fiber.
Though you may not need to peel the apple before giving it to your four legged friend, you want to make sure your dog doesn’t eat the apple core. Apple seeds have cyanide in them, which may not be harmful in small amounts, but if eaten on a regular basis there can be negative effects.
You can also give dehydrated apples, but only in small amounts. Dehydrated apples have all the same nutrients, but no water. This can upset your dog’s stomach.
Also remember to try to stay away from the seeds as much as possible, as well as the stems. They have cyanogenic glycosides as this can upset your dog’s stomach, or even worse in large amounts.
